What is the evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD, and what is it designed to carry?

The evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD is a pickup-truck bike-carrying pad, intended to let you transport bikes at the tailgate Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. The Amazon listing identifies this version as Black, M/L, with a stated product size of 136x85x2cm evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel….

The Tailgate PAD’s main stated purpose is straightforward: carry bikes on a pickup truck. Amazon says this version holds six bikes evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. That’s a listing claim, not a capacity we independently verified. The Tailgate PAD description also mentions quick access to the loading flap lever and a fold-away flap for the rear-view camera evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. Those access features may matter if you want the pad in place while still using those truck features, though the supplied information doesn’t establish compatibility with every truck.

The Tailgate PAD is therefore best understood as a truck-bed transport accessory rather than a standalone bike rack. The listing gives a model size and capacity, but leaves some practical fit and installation details unanswered.

How many bikes can the Tailgate PAD carry, and what are its dimensions and weight?

The Amazon listing states that the Tailgate PAD holds six bikes evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. It identifies the product size as 136x85x2cm evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. Those are the listing’s stated figures; the available evidence doesn’t show that the dimensions were independently checked.

A separate source gives a different set of fit measurements: 156 cm wide and 58 cm tall, along with a weight of 2,500 g Evoc Tailgate Pad Review: Still Hauls All the…. That source does not establish that those measurements describe the Amazon Black, M/L version, so don’t treat them as confirmed dimensions or weight for this listing. The Amazon product data supplied here doesn’t state a weight.

The distinction matters when you’re checking a truck before purchase. Use 136x85x2cm as the size stated for the Amazon listing, and regard the other reported measurements as separate-source information whose version match is unclear. The six-bike capacity is also a listing claim, not a guarantee that six bikes will fit every tailgate or sit equally well.

Which truck tailgates and bike frames fit the Tailgate PAD?

The Tailgate PAD’s fit depends on the truck and bike, and the available measurements shouldn’t be applied to every version. A source describing the XL reports a minimum inner tailgate width of 132 cm and outer height of 50 cm EVOC XL Tailgate Bike Pad – E-Bike Compatible…. The Amazon listing names its version as M/L, so the XL figures aren’t verified fit requirements for this listing evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel….

A description of the latest pad says it comes in two sizes for mid-size and full-size trucks, and names the Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado, Frontier, and Ridgeline among compatible vehicles Evoc Tailgate Pad Review: Still Hauls All the…. The Tailgate PAD is also described as using flexible straps compatible with e-bikes and heavier bikes with wider tires EVOC XL Tailgate Bike Pad – E-Bike Compatible….

One reviewer said the pad worked well with an aluminum full-suspension mountain bike but less well with a steel, fully rigid bike Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. That’s one person’s reported experience, not a universal fit result. Check your own truck and bike arrangement rather than assuming the Tailgate PAD will fit identically.

How is the Tailgate PAD installed and secured?

A reviewer’s reported installation process for the Tailgate PAD involves looping three straps under the tailgate and hooking them to the back of the pad Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. After attaching all three straps to the loops, the reviewer pulled them tight to secure the pad Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. This describes that reported setup, not instructions supplied with the Amazon listing.

A separate description of the latest version says it uses three webbing straps with slim aluminum hook-cam buckles to attach the pad and adjust tension Evoc Tailgate Pad Review: Still Hauls All the…. The Amazon listing data provided doesn’t specify those buckles or other mounting hardware evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. Nor does it provide installation instructions.

That leaves an important purchasing detail unresolved: the listed product information doesn’t say exactly what hardware comes in the package or give a full installation procedure. The reported three-strap method and latest-version buckle description offer context, but they shouldn’t be taken as confirmation that the Amazon M/L listing includes that precise hardware.

What protects the bikes and truck’s paint?

A source describing the XL says the Tailgate PAD uses weather-resistant fabrics, enhanced padding, and reinforced anchor points to protect bikes and vehicles EVOC XL Tailgate Bike Pad – E-Bike Compatible…. A reviewer also described large plastic-covered foam blocks that keep bikes separated from one another Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. These are reported design features, not a guarantee against damage in every loading arrangement.

For the latest version, another description reports a soft anti-scratch lining against the vehicle’s paint and foam pads on the outside to protect fork lowers Evoc Tailgate Pad Review: Still Hauls All the…. The Amazon listing doesn’t specify whether those latest-version details apply to its Black, M/L item.

There is also a caution in the reported experience: one reviewer noticed the pad rubbing the bike’s downtube and blemishing its paint Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. The reviewer said EVOC advised wrapping the downtube to protect it Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. If you’re concerned about finish, that report is worth considering; the available claims don’t establish how often such rubbing occurs.

How much does the Tailgate PAD cost, and what comes with it?

The Amazon listing prices the Black, M/L Tailgate PAD at $170 and marks it In Stock evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. The listing details provided state that it holds six bikes and mention quick access to the loading flap lever and a fold-away rear-view-camera flap evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. They don’t list included accessories or mounting hardware.

Other sources give prices for different listings or versions, so keep them separate from the Amazon price: one lists the XL at $47.50, and another lists the Duo at $25.00 EVOC XL Tailgate Bike Pad – E-Bike Compatible… EVOC Tailgate Pad Duo – Heavy-Duty Sand…. Pro Bike Supply lists a Black M/L at $170 EVOC Tailgate Pad Tailgate Pad Black M/L – Pro…. A separate latest-version description gives prices of $170 or $190, without establishing that either figure is the Amazon listing price Evoc Tailgate Pad Review: Still Hauls All the….

For this purchase, the usable price reference is the Amazon listing’s $170 figure. What arrives in the package is less clear: the supplied listing details don’t say whether straps, buckles, or other mounting items are included.

Does the Tailgate PAD leave the handle and backup camera accessible?

The Amazon listing says the Tailgate PAD has quick access to the loading flap lever and a fold-away flap for the rear-view camera evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. Other product descriptions also mention quick access to the tailgate release handle and a foldable rear-view-camera flap EVOC XL Tailgate Bike Pad – E-Bike Compatible… EVOC Tailgate Pad Tailgate Pad Black M/L – Pro….

Those claims describe intended access, but the supplied information doesn’t confirm that the handle or camera remains accessible on every truck configuration. A separate review describes a center flap that allows access to the tailgate handle and folds inward to leave the backup-camera view unobstructed Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. A description of the latest version says its handle flap folds up and out of the way for backup-camera use Evoc Tailgate Pad Review: Still Hauls All the….

So the feature is presented as part of the design, not as a verified fit outcome for all vehicles. If your truck’s handle or camera sits differently, the provided evidence doesn’t tell you whether the Tailgate PAD’s flaps will line up.

How does the Tailgate PAD compare with other bike-transport options?

The clearest comparison point for the Tailgate PAD is its stated six-bike capacity: that’s what the Amazon listing says it holds evoc Unisex_Adult Tailgate PAD Bike Travel…. The evidence supplied here doesn’t give comparable capacity or protection figures for a hitch rack, so it can’t show which transport option carries more or better protects bikes.

A forum participant mentioned owning a Thule T2 Classic hitch rack in addition to a tailgate pad. That establishes the rack as another option someone had, but not how it performed against the pad. No comparable measurements, capacity figures, or protection results are provided for that rack.

For now, you can compare the Tailgate PAD on its stated capacity and reported features, but not on a full performance basis against hitch racks. The available evidence doesn’t establish how either option would work with your truck, bikes, or preferred loading arrangement. Those details remain unknown rather than safely inferable from the six-bike claim.

What do reviewers report about fit and protection?

One reviewer said bikes in the Tailgate PAD’s two center slots sat less well than bikes in the side slots on that reviewer’s truck Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. That is a report about one truck, not a universal finding. The same source reported that an aluminum-frame full-suspension mountain bike worked well, while a steel-frame, fully rigid mountain bike did not work as well Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review].

On protection, a reviewer noticed rubbing against a bike’s downtube and blemishing of its paint, and reported advice to wrap the downtube to protect it Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. Another reported feature is plastic-covered foam blocks that separate bikes Evoc Tailgate Pad Keeps On Truckin' [Review]. Together, those claims suggest both a protective design intent and a possible point of contact to watch.

The claims provided here don’t include Amazon buyer-review ratings or review text. That means this review can’t summarize an Amazon rating or describe a pattern among Amazon buyers. The Tailgate PAD’s fit and protection should be considered in light of the specific reports and listing claims, not as a settled result for every setup.
