Where are the HEX pads positioned, and what areas do they cover?

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts are described as providing coverage at the hips, tailbone and thighs HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection. The manufacturer says the design adjusts to movement for continuous protection in those areas HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection. The Amazon specification adds that the HEX hip pads have a newly engineered shape intended to provide more precise coverage and range of motion McDavid Men's Compression Shorts w/HEX Pads….

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts are also described by the manufacturer as having newly shaped hip pads for more precise coverage HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection. The available claims don’t give pad dimensions or a detailed placement diagram, so they don’t support a more exact account of where each pad sits. Nor do they establish that the stated coverage remains continuous during actual play. McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts have listed hip, tailbone and thigh coverage, with a shape claim for the hip pads; exact fit and coverage on an individual body remain unknown from these details.

What materials, compression level, and padding thickness do the shorts use?

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts use 9 mm HEX padding, which the manufacturer describes as lightweight, flexible and breathable HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection. The manufacturer lists the materials as 84% polyester, 16% spandex and polyethylene foam HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection. Its product description says the compression technology supports large muscles to help reduce pulls and fatigue HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection. These are listed construction details and intended benefits, not test findings.

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts have no specified compression level in the available claims. There’s also a difference between the manufacturer’s material breakdown and the Amazon specification, which says “100% Polyester Imported” HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection McDavid Men's Compression Shorts w/HEX Pads…. The supplied information doesn’t explain that discrepancy or clarify whether the Amazon wording describes a different component. McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts therefore come with a stated padding thickness and manufacturer material breakdown, but not a quantified compression level or a reconciled fabric specification.

How do the dual-density padded tights compare with single-density or unpadded shorts?

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts are described as padded tights intended to protect the hips, thighs and tailbone, with 9 mm HEX technology characterized by the manufacturer as lightweight, flexible and breathable HEX Thudd Short – McDavid HEX® Protection. Those details explain the listed design, but they don’t establish how it performs against another garment.

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts can’t be fairly ranked here against single-density or unpadded shorts: the available information provides no direct comparison with either type. Comparative comfort, protection and performance are therefore unknown. The product name includes “Dual-Density,” but the supplied claims don’t explain the construction of the two densities or provide a single-density benchmark. McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts may be considered for their stated padded coverage, but buyers should not treat the available listing as evidence that the design offers more protection, comfort or mobility than an alternative. No comparative test results or buyer-review evidence are supplied.

What sizes are available, and how should you measure for the correct fit?

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts have no available size list or measurement instructions in the supplied product information. That leaves two basic fit questions unanswered: which sizes can be selected, and what measurements should guide the choice.

McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts are described as compression shorts, but that label doesn’t provide a size chart or establish how the garment fits a particular person. The available claims don’t say whether sizing runs small, large or true to size, and they don’t specify measurement points or a fit method. McDavid Men’s Compression Shorts can’t responsibly be matched to a recommended size from the evidence provided. Check the sizing information shown with the specific listing before choosing; the supplied material itself doesn’t contain enough detail to make that choice. Fit, including how the pads sit on an individual body, remains unknown.
